While immigrant employment rose by 4.7% from January 2009 through December 2011, native-born employment declined by 2.0%. Since January 2001, non-Hispanic employment fell by 1.6 million, or 1.3%, while Hispanic employment rose 4.6 million, or 28.4%. Since June 2009, non-Hispanic employment fell by 338,000, or 0.3%, while Hispanic employment rose 1.1 million, or 5.6%.
