Only 8% of white American high-school students have a best friend of another race

The more diverse a school is, the less likely it is that kids will form cross-race friendships. The reason for this is that people are naturally threatened by diversity since humans evolved to be a tribal species. The more diverse a population the more threatened people with become and the more likely they are to seek the company of their own kind.
